Our Story

POV: You and your wife were living the corporate American dream. You had a comfortable 9-5 job, paid vacation, and a 401k match. Life was good. But as fate would have it, the pandemic struck, and everything changed. Your friends in the hospitality industry, who had mouths to feed at home, lost their jobs overnight. One of your buddies in New York City had to close the doors to their newly-opened and successful restaurant because they couldn't afford the rent during the shutdown. It was heartbreaking to watch.
You racked your brain, wondering what you could do to help. After all, the hospitality industry had brought you and your wife together. So, you went through your little black book of contacts, looking for job openings and opportunities. You started spreading the word to your friends, hoping to give them a fighting chance at getting an interview.
As the chaos of the pandemic started to settle, your connections began to bear fruit. One of your friends lands a job with a catering company your wife had worked for in the past. It was a small victory, but it felt meaningful. And that's when it hit you: the 9-5 was comfortable, but it just wasn't enough.
You and your wife made the bold decision to quit corporate America and launch Off Your Plate Hospitality. Sure, you were in the process of starting a family, an expensive journey to say the least, but you knew you could make it work. And now with your baby on your hip (yes, we were blessed with a little one), you worked tirelessly day and night to build connections and create opportunities for others.
Since then, you've met some of the most dedicated, passionate, and kind-hearted souls that you could have ever imagined, and you grew. What started as a simple idea to help a few friends blossomed into a company that connected people from all walks of life.
You now invite all talent and job seekers to connect with you because you understand the struggle of losing a job or trying to find the perfect candidate. Let's work together to better the industry we all have come to love.
