POV: You and your wife were living the classic corporate American dream, steady 9–5 jobs, paid vacations, 401k match, the whole package. Life was comfortable. Predictable. Safe.

Then the pandemic hit… and everything changed.

Friends in hospitality lost their jobs overnight. People with families to feed were suddenly out of work. One of your closest friends in NYC had to shut the doors on a brand-new, thriving restaurant because they couldn’t survive the shutdown rent. Watching it happen was brutal, and it lit a fire.

Hospitality is what brought you and your wife together, so you did what felt natural: you started helping. You pulled out your little black book of contacts, made calls, sent messages, and started connecting people to opportunities wherever you could. You weren’t building a business; you were just trying to help your people survive.

Then something clicked.

One friend landed a job through a connection. Then another. Then another. Small wins… but big meaning. And that’s when you realized: the corporate 9–5 might be comfortable, but it wasn’t fulfilling.

So... you made the leap.

You quit corporate America, took the risk, and launched Off Your Plate Hospitality right in the middle of starting a family (because timing has a sense of humor). With a baby on your hip (update: she’s three now- and there’s a little brother too!), you built this company day by day, connection by connection, relationship by relationship.

What started as helping a few friends turned into something way bigger: a company rooted in people, purpose, and real impact.

Today, Off Your Plate Hospitality connects passionate talent with incredible hospitality groups across the country because we understand both sides of the struggle: losing a job and trying to find the right person to build your team.
